Cost coverage

NCCR members (cash and in-kind)
The NCCR head office will cover accommodation (hotel and meals) and travel expenses for all NCCR members and for the Advisory board.
– Accommodation/meals: The costs for the hotel and restaurants will be charged directly to the NCCR head office.
– Travel: claim the reimbursement of your travel costs at your home institution, where collective invoices for reimbursement will be issued to the NCCR head office in Bern.

Associates
This year, the Academic Platform can cover accommodation (hotel and meals) for associates, but not travel expenses.
– Accommodation/meals: The costs for the hotel and restaurants will be charged directly to the Academic Platform of PlanetS.
– Travel: claim the reimbursement of your travel costs at your local level (to the non-NCCR fund of the associate or to the related NCCR local project budget).

The excursion to the Jungfraujoch is covered for all participants by the NCCR head office. Participants have nothing to do for this.

The reimbursement forms of UBE, UGE and UZH as well as more info on UGE procedure have been circulated by Janine Jungo. For ETHZ, follow the usual local procedure.

Please note that all reimbursements have to be requested as soon as possible and latest by 12th May 2022. This is especially important this year as we are reaching the end of Phase 3.

Trip to Jungfraujoch:
Everyone can go to the Jungfraujoch, however please note that the visit to the Observatory is possible only for a limited number of 80 people (40 in the morning, 40 in the afternoon). Spots are assigned on a first come, first serve basis (assigned spots from January no longer apply).
Please consider which domain workshop you want to attend, to choose when you want to visit the Jungfraujoch (consult program).

Schedule for trip:
Below you find the schedule for the 6 groups. There are 3 groups in the morning and 3 groups in the afternoon:

Group 1:
Visiting the Jungfraujoch + the Observatory in the morning. The group of 20 will be split into a group of 10 for the Observatory visit.
Group 2:
Visiting the Jungfraujoch + the Observatory in the morning. The group of 20 will be split into a group of 10 for the Observatory visit.
Group 3:
Visiting the Jungfraujoch individually or in groups.
Group 4:
Visiting the Jungfraujoch + the Observatory in the afternoon. The group of 20 will be split into a group of 10 for the Observatory visit.
Group 5:
Visiting the Jungfraujoch + the Observatory in the afternoon. The group of 20 will be split into a group of 10 for the Observatory visit.
Group 6:
Visiting the Jungfraujoch individually or in groups.

Please bring:
– Lunchbox:
Can be picked up before the trip, near the Restaurant in Hotel Sunstar. There will be a selection of sandwiches, fruits, drinks to choose from. I have informed the hotel about those who mentioned allergies/intolerances. They will prepare special sandwiches according to your allergy/intolerance.
– Gästekarte / Guestcard from Hotel Sunstar (counts as Train/Bus ticket)
– Mask (masks are mandatory for Research Station/Observatory visit)

Contactperson Jungfraujoch:
– There will be a contactperson per group. You will find the contact information of this person on the schedule.
– This person would make sure, that when you meet in the lobby of the hotel that every one of the group is there / the person has the group ticket for the Jungfraujoch Gondola & the Jungfraujoch train / on the Jungfraujoch the person would make sure the Observatory groups get to the meeting points and split them into the 2 groups of 10 / then again when the tours have ended when you meet up at the train station, that everyone is there.
– Please note, that some of the contactperson have also never been on the Jungfraujoch. So I would like to ask everyone, who joins the trip, to be on time, help find the way around according to the schedule and help to make sure everyone is there.
