| The goal of my current work is to maximize our knowledge about the current and past Martian environment, which can be extracted from images returned by Martian missions, and physics-based computer modeling of the most ubiquitous landform on Mars, i.e. impact craters. | |
| How did you get into this research/work field? | |
| Half a year after the completion of my PhD, when I was working in a technology startup, I skimmed through BOB (aka the Big Orange Book – Introduction to Modern Astrophysics by Caroll and Ostlie), looking for inspiration. The chapter on terrestrial planets, especially Mars, gave me the rush of excitement. It wasn’t until 3 years later that I have decided to take a leap and pursue this further. I found a unique research idea and began searching for funding. | |

| Funding from NCCR PlanetS allows me to set foot in the new research discipline and derive inspiration for future directions from other researchers exploring the Solar System. | |
