We stand on a great threshold in the human history of space exploration. If life is prevalent in our neighborhood of the galaxy, it is within our resources and technological reach to be the first generation in human history to finally cross this threshold, and to learn if there is life of any kind beyond Earth. Please describe your job in only one sentence and tell us what the most important goal of this work is.
I am studying the habitability of terrestrial exoplanets by understanding how to determine and detect signatures of life on exoplanetary spectra.
How did you get into this research/work field?
I have been working on exoplanetology since my bachelor’s thesis, due to my interest in physics and chemistry of exoplanetary atmospheres.
What would be the greatest discovery you would like to see in your life time?
The discovery of any kind of life form in the universe.
