Please give us a personal quote or a quote of a famous person (e.g. of Albert Einstein) that describes you and your life/work.
„Curiosity is always the first step to resolving a problem“, Galileo Galilei

Please describe your job in only one sentence and tell us what the most important goal of this work is.
I am developing fast computer codes to simulate the late stage of terrestrial planet formation, exoplanetary system evolution and exoplanet characterisation by using Graphics Processing Units (GPUs).

How did you get into this research/work field?
During my studies I was interested in both, astrophysics and computational science. With my master thesis, I had the chance to combine these two fields and I started to develope the GENGA code, which was then completed during the time as phd student.

What would be the greatest discovery you would like to see in your life time?
To understand the complete process of planet formation as well as the
discovery of Earth-like planets.

You work for the NCCR PlanetS. What do you think will the NCCR enable you to do you couldn’t do without it?
It will allow me to learn more about exoplanets, seen from other perspectives than from computer simulations.
