Pino Lorenzo, Mr.
Please give us a personal quote or a quote of a famous person (e.g. of Albert Einstein) that describes you and your life/work.
“Always keep track of the origin of your ideas.” (unknown)
Please describe your job in only one sentence and tell us what the most important goal of this work is.
Watch sunsets of other planets to study their atmosphere, to understand how different (or similar) they are to our Solar System, and why.
How did you get into this research/work field?
When I was a kid I was scared of the night sky. Luckily, the fear became fascination, and since when I started school I have always known I wanted to be an astronomer. Plus, I like watching clouds.
What would be the greatest discovery you would like to see in your life time?
I hope to not disappoint anyone, since it is not about exoplanets: I would like to know if dark energy really exists, and what it is.
You work for the NCCR PlanetS. What do you think will the NCCR enable you to do you couldn’t do without it?
Get in touch with a lot of people that share my interests and passions.
