Please give us a personal quote or a quote of a famous person (e.g. of Albert Einstein) that describes you and your life/work.
” To explore the field of possibilities, the most efficient way is do-it-yourself ” (Hubert Reeves)

Please describe your job in only one sentence and tell us what the most important goal of this work is.
I am studying first stages of evolution of protoplanetary disks, using analytical and numerical simulation methods, to better understand planetesimal formation.

How did you get into this research/work field?
I have always been fascinated by the solar system and the existence of exoplanets. I started to simulate disk evolution during my PhD, with the goal of forming planets and have kept working on this field since then.

What would be the greatest discovery you would like to see in your life time?
Direct pictures of exoplanets, in particular of earth-like blue planets!

You work for the NCCR PlanetS. What do you think will the NCCR enable you to do you couldn’t do without it?
The interaction between many world wide famous teams in the planet formation field is a big asset. And as concerns my project, the PlanetS NCCR brings me the opportunity to run my simulations on the biggest supercomputer in Europe, Piz Daint (CSCS).
