Please describe your job in only one sentence and tell us what the most important goal of this work is.
I am working with spectropolarimetry to develop a remote sensing method to detect life beyond Earth.
How did you get into this research/work field?
I first studied biology and then biological oceanography, before switching fields a bit to get involved in astrobiology.
What would be the greatest discovery you would like to see in your life time?
The discovery of life beyond Earth, and the accompanying awareness that much more life may be out there.
You work for the NCCR PlanetS. What do you think will the NCCR enable you to do you couldn’t do without it?
Learning from a wide range of colleagues in a variety of scientific fields. Truly great discoveries can only be made on an interdisciplinary basis.
