Weather on an Exo-Neptune

Clear skies and high humidity on an Exo-Neptune

A team of astronomers spanning three continents and including a member of the SPF group has observed system the atmosphere of the wholesale jerseys extrasolar planet HAT-P-11b using data from three space telescopes – Hubble, Kepler and Spitzer. HAT-P-11b is a relatively small object, roughly the size of Neptune, however it is much hotter at about 600 degrees C. The observations revealed an unambiguous signature Strips of water vapor in the atmosphere. This (Berks) came as a surprise because previous studies of similar exoplanets did not lead to detections of any of the atmospheric components. One possible explanation of this is that most such objects are covered with thick layers of clouds, apparently with the exception of HAT-P-11b.
