Please give us a personal quote or a quote of a famous person (e.g. of Albert Einstein) that describes you and your life/work.
Work as hard and as much as you want to on the things you like to do the best. – Richard Feynman
Please describe your job in only one sentence and tell us what the most important goal of this work is.
I study mineralogical and geological surface processes on Mars, to understand the extent of analogous planetary processes here on Earth and Mars.
How did you get into this research/work field?
I conducted mineralogical investigation of Indonesia’s fluvio-volcaniclastics from source-to-sink back in 2019 and managed to present my work to the scientists from Astromaterials Research and Exploration Science (ARES) at NASA Johnson Space Center, and together we compare our result with the mineralogical investigation from Gusev and Gale Crater on Mars.
What would be the greatest discovery you would like to see in your life time?
I would like to see us as a species finding a way to terraform Mars and make it habitable for our future generation.
You work for the NCCR PlanetS. What do you think will the NCCR enable you to do you couldn’t do without it?
NCCR has the expertise, equipment, and the networking that will enable me to revisit some Mars hypotheses, explore new Mars geological frontiers, and answer more complex scientific questions on the Red Planet.
