| I study the atmospheres of ultra hot gaseous exoplanets using high-resolution ground-based spectroscopy. Discovering the composition and structure of exoplanet atmospheres can help us understand how the planets formed and evolved, and ultimately lead to the detection of extraterrestrial life forms. | |
| How did you get into this research/work field? | |
| I have my parents to thank for fostering my love for science and taking me to so many museums. Then in high school, I went to a Summer course about astronomy where I heard about exoplanets for the first time, and the rest is history. | |
| What would be the greatest discovery you would like to see in your life time? | |
| Finding strong evidence of life forms in another body of the Solar System or on another exoplanet. | |
| You work for the NCCR PlanetS. What do you think will the NCCR enable you to do you couldn’t do without it? | |
| The NCCR will allow me to collaborate with other astronomers in Switzerland, improve my research work, and expose me to new and exciting career opportunities. | |
