PlanetS General Assembly 5

The 5th NCCR PlanetS General Assembly will take place at the Hotel Dorint Blüemlisalp in Beatenberg (BE) on Monday-Wednesday, 28.-30.01.2019.
All NCCR members and associates are invited to join.
External members only by invitation by a PI and at their own cost.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Please note that your registration for the General Assembly is binding. If you cannot attend or have any changes, please inform Janine Jungo no later than Thursday, January 18, 2019 at noon. If you fail to cancel within this deadline, the costs will be charged to you by invoice sent to the address you have indicated in the registration form.

Cost coverage

NCCR members:
The NCCR Head office will cover accommodation and travel expenses for all NCCR members and the Advisory board.
>Accomodation/meals: Your registration will be forwarded to the hotel. The costs for the hotel will be charged directly to the NCCR.
>Travel: claim the costs for your travel at your home institution, where collective invoices for reimbursement will be issued to the NCCR Head office in Bern.

Associates/CSH Fellows:
Associates and CSH Fellows are invited to attend the General Assembly, but have to be funded on local level (NCCR local project budget / any non-NCCR funding).
> Accomodation/meals: Your registration will be forwarded to the hotel. The costs for the hotel can be paid directly to the hotel or charged by invoice (for the invoice, please verify with your supervisor to which invoice address these costs can be charged.
Bernese Associates / CSH Fellows please indicate the respective REF-No.).
> Travel: The costs for travel have to be reimbursed on local level.

Accomodation

  • 124 spacious studios, apartments and duplex apartements are south facing and equipped with kitchenettes (with Nespresso machine), telephones, TVs and balconies from which you can enjoy views of the impressive Eiger, Moench and Jungfrau summits.
  • All apartments have double rooms with single beds that could be taken apart.

Hotel room for 2 nights (incl. breakfast/visitor's tax)

Costs for children:
0-5 years old, free of charge
6-11 years old, Fr. 31.40 per child/night (incl. breakfast/visitor’s tax)
12-16 years old, Fr. 41.40 per child/night (incl. breakfast/visitor’s tax)

Prolong your stay:
If you would like to spend the days before/after the GA at the hotel at your own cost, you can benefit from the special seminarrate for hotel rooms. Please indicate the reservation in the registration form and note that these costs have to be paid directly to the hotel:

Check-in:
The rooms are usually ready by 15:00. Luggage can be stored in a luggage room. If we are lucky, some rooms might be ready when we arrive.

Check-out:
Check-out until 11:00. Luggage can be stored in a luggage room.

Access plan

Access by public transportation:

Take a train from Bern to Interlaken WEST. Change to Postauto Bus 101 to “Beatenberg, Hubel”.
Each participant has received a free ticket for the Postauto from Interlaken WEST to Beatenberg with a separate confirmation by the hotel.

We have reserved compartments labelled “NCCR PlanetS” for the connections below.
(We have made reservations especially for those who have indicated that they will arrive by public transportation with the recommended connection. Please note that there is only 1 Postauto per hour. So in case you have not reserved a seat, please confirm in following doodle that you need a seat: https://doodle.com/poll/peeqzhh5bbgvh7cv

***This is only a reservation, please buy a corresponding ticket. Please check www.sbb.ch before taking the train, platforms could changed.**

 


Access by car:

Parking is free of charge for GA participants.
The hotel has a double underground car park and enough outdoor parking spaces.
Expenses for rides with your private car will only be reimbursed (Fr. 0.70/ kilometer) if it’s cheaper than public transportation; e.g. if one participant can transport 2-3 fellow participants or equipment for the event to the destination.
