Please give us a personal quote or a quote of a famous person (e.g. of Albert Einstein) that describes you and your life/work.
“Great visions not only need wings, but also a landing gear to land upon.” (Neil Armstrong)

Please describe your job in only one sentence and tell us what the most important goal of this work is.
I take care of all the money within PlanetS, watching the project budgets, and coordinate the financial and non-scientific reporting to the SNSF, with the purpose of facilitating research work as smooth and efficient as possible.

How did you get into this research/work field?
When working as a post-doc researcher, I became aware of how important and helpful is a well-organized environment for researching people, that enables them to perform successful work, without being bothered too much by endless administrative tasks. Hence, after having quit my own researcher career, I decided to continue working in the academic field, but with another hat on.

What would be the greatest discovery you would like to see in your life time?
Since I’m a rookie in planetary science, I cannot dream of any great discovery. But once having a look through a large telescope and getting a glimpse into far remote spheres, would be very exciting to me.

You work for the NCCR PlanetS. What do you think will the NCCR enable you to do you couldn’t do without it?
I appreciate working in a most interdisciplinary, international, and very professional environment, thus getting in contact with many interesting and highly skilled people. The NCCR offers great opportunity to learn from those people and get insights into most recent research results, which wouldn’t be accessible to me outside the project.
