Please describe your job in only one sentence and tell us what the most important goal of this work is.
We are characterising exoplanets by observing their transits and occultations with the aim of gaining insights on their internal structure and their atmosphere.
How did you get into this research/work field?
I was fascinated with both space and geophysics since school and aimed for an interdisciplinary research field which had me end up in exoplanet science.
What would be the greatest discovery you would like to see in your life time?
In the context of space-research: A earth-like planet in the habitable zone of a G-type star with a bio-marker like molecular oxygen in its atmosphere.
You work for the NCCR PlanetS. What do you think will the NCCR enable you to do you couldn’t do without it?
I will be able to collaborate with countless researchers, which will enable me to both learn from there experience and also help with an interdisciplinary approach to our research by combing different areas of expertise.
